NASH, established in 1975 by the late former Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak (1922-1976), brings together smallholders from all over Malaysia under one purposeful entity.

Tun Abdul Razak , during a speech at a smallholders seminar in 1975 said that the “The smallholders community has a unique position in contributing to the country's economic growth.” he also said that “The smallholders needs a body that can coordinate and planned co-operation with various government ministries as well as private bodies.” hence NASH was formed.

Since its inception, Nash has been a major force in ensuring Malaysian smallholders to be more competitive in the agriculture industry locally and globally. NASH has also been actively involved in various annual international meetings like CAC, MRPRA, IRA, ANRPC, IRSG, INRO and others.

Being resolutely focused on the needs and interests of it's members, Nash has grown to the extraordinary size and nature that it is today. With an estimated of one million ha of
land to date, NASH has 239 branches with 100,000 members nationwide.
Members consist of smallholders with 5 acres or less of agriculture land and honorary memberships are given to individuals which are experts in their respective fields.

It continues to build on these strengths and to service it's members and the interests of the smallholder's community in Malaysia . NASH has two business subsidiaries-

1. Koperasi Ladang Pekebun-Pekebun Kecil Malaysia holdings

2. Pekebun Maju Holdings.
